About Pen Shop IMAI
Located in the heart of Takayama, Pen Shop IMAI is a stationery boutique that blends tradition with modern design.
With a history of over 60 years as part of the long-established “Imai Stationery Store,” our shop was opened in April 2017 on the second floor of the main store.
We offer a curated selection of over 10,000 items, including fine writing instruments, fountain pen inks, designer stationery, and collectible masking tapes—carefully chosen to bring the joy of “selecting your own tools” to every customer.
Visitors can enjoy a dedicated try-out corner for pens and inks, as well as a terrace overlooking Takayama’s charming old streets. Pen Shop IMAI welcomes both local customers and travelers from around the world, providing not just stationery, but an experience to remember.
